My grandson's car weighs 5.096 oz. right now, complete. Knowing there could be a difference in scales at the derby, how much weight should I try to remove? And where is the best place to remove some? Thanks

what I like to do is bring the car down to 5.01ish ounces and bring it back up to 5.044 oz with tungsten putty. Then, if there is a scale difference, you can just take out a little bit of putty to make the car legal.

That is very do-able. Where should I remove wood?

toward the front axle... about 1/4" from the back side of it... you don't want to mess with the integrity of the axles... But then make a spot for you to add the putty toward the weights at the back of the car.
