I've been told if storing for a long time, keep aresol can upside down so propellant doesn't leak away. Had that happen to part of a case of panther piss one time.

Where does one obtain such an item like "Panther Piss"? And why do you have a case of it??? I am not sure it is available in my area. Would it work for PWD?

ie penetrating oil. I've been told - I think I've seen a can years ago in an era past. I'm no expert, but I 'd lean to not good for pwd. Except to go fix squeeks around the house so you can get back to cars.

Regarding Jig: There was some question about the contents settling or something a while back. That the end of the can was different than the beginning of the can. I store my can on its side because of this.

So then your contents settle into the side it's laying on.

Just shake it.

I've learned a ton here from you guys and we use the info for scout races only. Now I know I'm really slacking when I'm reading about how you guys have discovered better ways to store and shake up cans of lube.

We pretty much just cross our fingers and hope it doesn't wobble down the flat.

We use the 3M Dry-Type Silicone but don't know how it compares to others.

You know that you're a real drinker of the Derby koolaid, when you are not only buying hard-to-find lubricant, but you are storing the container on its side to optimize the composition of product when you use it. /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif

is this the jig type everyone is using?

Same brand. The link you posted is for the industrial version it seems. I think most of the guys have the commercial one. Not sure what they change in the formula to distinguish the two. It is a silicone based lubricant. There are obviously several types of silicone sprays much easier to find but for whatever reason the Jig blend simply works better with the oil then most of the others. I am sure most work better then none at all but when it comes to how competitive the league racing is if one works a couple 0.0001 seconds faster then another it matters.
