Simple way to raise front wheel?

I know there are more advanced ways to do this, but I'm looking for a simple way to raise a front wheel (for rail riding with 3 wheels touching).

I'm using pre-cut slots.

In the past (not railriding), I've used a combination of taking a saw and running it through the slot a few times to make it deeper, so the axle would be a bit raised, and also slightly angling the axle up, away from the body, which causes the wheel to be raised.

Now that I'm attempting a rail rider this year, I'm not sure if the above methods are the best or not (might make no difference at all whether or not I'm railriding and using these techniques, but I'm just not sure).

I saw online a recommendation somewhere (not here) to glue the small end of a toothpick into the slot of the FDW, which would cause it to be slightly lower in the body, thereby 'raising' the other wheel.

Is that a good safe method?

Thanks for any thoughts and, again, not looking for anything overly complicated (even though this might be simple to you guys, at this point I just need a relatively quick/easy/safe way to raise the wheel).

Bend your front axle to make a rail runner. Turn the axle so it goes down, and when you do, it will automatically raise the NDFW (If your weight is properly proportioned toward the rear of the car).
