Snail cars

I am about done with my Snail car, but since this is the first time I have ventured into this "Slow is Better" mode I am wondering how you guys are making your cars SLOW? It seems that you who have a Best Track have a big advantage in preparing for this race. My wood track is 39' pin to timer, but it has a more gentle curve transition and does not quite become totally flat to the finish. If I am correct the Best Track timed distance is 37' -correct?
So I have been able to get my car to run a bit over 5.0 seconds. If I tweak it a bit more it will not reach the finish line. I am concerned that my car will not run the entire Best Track distance since it has more of a flat section than my track, making it slow down more near the end. What times are you guys with a Best Track getting? - just curious! This race will really be interesting!

It has been my Xperience that the aluminum track is a bit faster and smoother than a wood track??? So you might be under your 5 seconds on the NPWDRL track?

In the 6th (maybe 7th?) run John's car was all touchy, feely on my car otherwise I would have won! Pushed me in front of him!!! LOL!
