VK if you want a scout race go to a scout race, this is a league. If you carefully re read these post with your blinders off, you can see the answer you demanded has already been answered.

Be a bigger person and evolve with the game... it does no good wishing for the past.

So what it sounds like you're saying (correct me if I'm misinterpreting), is that the purpose behind the BASX class have shifted. If we define the original purpose as "low cost, entry-level," then...what is it now?
In fact, that would be a satisfying answer, if somebody in NPWDRL management just clarified what the purpose of the class was.

I'm not mad. I'm just trying to get an answer. I don't think I'm asking anything unreasonable.

Maybe not. Tell you what, if management will just say, "We decline to answer the question regarding the appropriateness of the Predator wheels in the BASX class,", I'll just leave it at that.

Kinser Racing said:Really dude! Are you that dense? It's still cheap to "Get into!" What don't you get about that? The grand majority of people who race the first few times are not going to be incredible competitive, there's a learning curve! Guys that want to win do the R&D and get the parts to fill the need for speed and it will end end up costing a little money. Would you like us to start a scout class for you? You'll win because you'll be racing yourself! This is the Pro's, suck it up Buttercup!

Could you unpack that a bit? Does that mean, $10.00 to obtain the pre-2009 wheels, and then turn them on your lathe? That seems a little out of reach to your typical beginning racer. I mean, if you're turning your own wheels, any cut can be "cheap" by that metric.

I need to get my wheel bore process perfected before I worry about these petty issues.
If anyone wants my opinion, I'm sure they'll give it to me.
Quicktimederby said:So because I have tools and knowledge I can't use them? There are many here that turn their own wheels so it's cheap for them. So I guess as long as you turn your own wheels you can run them because there cheap. If you have to buy them turned your SOL.
So, enter the BASX class. In my mind, the idea behind the BASX class is that you should be able to make a minimal investment (non-lightened trued wheels, good stainless steel axles, handful of tungsten, krytox, bore wax, can of Jig) and pretty much have as good a base to build on as any other racer. You never need feel that you lost because somebody bought some better parts than you. You lost because they built a better car than you did.
DerbyDady4Hire said:VK there is a reason the class was copied by every other league. Making a rule to say no weight can be removed from the inside is yet another rule that is too hard to judge. Weight is simple.
