What is everyone finding to be the best BSA box wheels lately? Or at very least what are the ones to avoid for sure.

If you can find an out of the box wheel that has .001-.003 run out you are doing well. I used to buy 10 sets of wheels hoping to find three good wheels. That was before we started running lathed wheels.

Good practice still, if you wanna run the new Box Stock class, eh?

Well I thought I had a set of BASX wheels to use but I had already ran them on graphite and am going to try oil this year for my sons pack race. Don't think I have time to get another set so was going to try and find some good box wheels.

Is there any reliable way to clean the wheels after running graphite and switching to oil?

Are the BASX wheels something you have cut and ready to ship or are they cut to order?

Not in my opinion. I wouldn't do it. The graphite gets embedded in the bore.

No don't do it. I tried this and thought I had cleaned the wheels really well. the bores were shiny and smooth looking, so I re-waxed the wheel bores and applied oil. After two runs the car was really slow and when I pulled the wheels the oil was a black sticky mess. I saved the axles and threw away the wheels. Its not worth the time and effort!
