I can honestly say that looks wise its one of the best classes to watch running down the track! If you like or liked buidling modesl then its also fun and requires creativity as well figuring out the best way to mount that silly block of wood into the platsic body. I had a blast making mine and plan to make few more the coming 2014 season.....
I will say this though, not all models are the same...even if they are the same scale on the box....found this out the hard way....bought a mustang but looking at the body, its made so that its not just a hollow shell but there was a lot of plastic mounting things in the hood area that had to all get cut off to even fit the wood block, this meant some of the outer parts I had to figure a different way to attach. Most recently I bought a yellow Camaro....more circa 1980s....came home and immediately realized that it wasnt one of the two brands that I think was mentioned in past posts....and low and behold, the wheel wheels on the model where no where near position of the axel holes on the block I wanted to use....so will have to redrill holes....
My first SR, the wheel wells and the standard wheelbase setup on the block matched exactly and I assumed all the models would (althought looking back im not sure why I even assumed that LOL)
Anyway a great class that I hope more people participate in!

Maybe we can even have a second award or winner for this class for "Best in Show" based not on speed, but design, paint, detail etc....voted on by those present at the race! That might be a fun way to get some interest!
