Stuck axles

I had a couple of axles on my nationals car that I've been dreading trying to get out ever since I put the car together. They were WAY TOO tight. I had relieved holes with a different sized axle (rookie here!) and the 92s that I used were much tighter.

So the idea I came up with worked really well, so I wanted to share. Obviously this should not happen but if you find yourself stuck and not wanting to risk warping wheel try this...

I used some braided fishing line to tie to axle head. Use two knots. One knot will slip. Line should slip between axle head and outer hub into groove in axle. Wrap loose end of line around something (I used screw driver handle) and PULL! Viola! Axles came right out without warping wheels!!

Im sure someone else had thought/done this before and if so I'm not trying to steal your thunder, but I'm so happy I didn't mess up my wheels!

No just kidding! That is a great idea however a little to late as I did the same thing at nationals and ran my car with my axles too tight, and as you may have guessed I didnt do so well.
wah
thanX for the tip and now I have to go add something to my PWD tool kit haha

Cooley-what lb. test do you use? I've been wrapping a rubberband around the axle head to protect it and using axle extraction pliers, rotating it back and forth to loosen it, but I'm willing to try something new!

Jator- I used 50 lb. just because that is what I had. I can't get my pliers over axle head with tighter wheel gaps. I had initially thought to use stainless leader wire but was afraid it might scratch axle head.
