Stupid questions

Scout Race this weekend, Built 2 and rebuilt 2, and My scout and I were about to start burnishing bores, checking around for instructions on using a polished up pin gauge (thanks Duck) but then... i find this thread, and it looks like some of the guys here are actually adding additional sealants made of graphite & glue, or sealants with moly/teflon?? So... am i missing a step between step 3 of black ice and burnishing the bores? Or maybe a better way then the pin gauge roller pin method?

So, wondering/hoping if anybody “in the know” wants to maybe share a simple recipe and a little how-to, Ive got some freshly prepped wheels and a scout looking for a win!

All you really need is a good graphite derbydad's is the best stuff I have used. From his site about the test's he has done hobby-lube or maximum velocity would be next best. I was using stuff from winderby but its not nearly as good as derbydad I can hear a difference instantly when switching to his with only 1 application. as posted I would stay away from adding alcohol. Any 1/2 decent graphite will have moly added in it already.

We did the full Black ice 3 step system, then burnished with a polished pin gauge, and a gave all the wheels a couple spins in the right direction using dd4h graphite.

I got a couple DMs saying the glues and sealants were for the wheel contact point(s) on the body, and that makes sense. Since we think we did the wheels and axles pretty much by the book, our takeaway here is to add some clear nail polish where the wheels rub, thanks!
