well it looks like I will be sending in my sons car that we ran this year for the next race. it will not win but I will at least see how it does. I have already started to re-evaluate my wheel prep because that is where I feel the least comfortable right now. I will have more questions later I'm sure and I already spend way too much time on here reading older post as it is, but I would like to break the 2 second mark, just to feel like I'm competing.

so the car is a cub car, canted wheels, rail runner, should I pull a wheel and axle to verify that it meats the BASX rules. I do prep my wheels for the cub races but I don't have a clue as to how much they weigh. I don't modify the overall size of the wheel. one back wheel is glued in because the hole got a little big and I didn't like how easy the nail could pull out.

one other question as we know all scales are not made equal. If a car is to heavy or too light is there anything to be done since it is a proxy car? I didn't know how those things are handled.

Then the next question is Team Name?

M2/S2 Racing
Ramfifty Racing

and THANK YOU to all the users of this board. Its really great to find a place to share my passion and not receive strange looks and smarta** remarks (well I KNOW the last two still happen here but not for the same reasons) just because I took a liking to something they didn't.

Is the car legal for BASX or Box Stock? BASX allows for more wheel mods but if your wheels are untouched it might be better suited for BS if it meets the rest of the rules?

not sure. I was leaning towards BASX but need to find out the wheel weights to be sure. I read in the rules for the BASX that the wheels must weigh at least 2g. so I will have to check tonight when I get home. I didn't see a rule list for box stock

If the wheels are not trued on a lathe or no material has been removed, and there's been no inner and out hub work, you should be good for Box stock. If you have purchased wheels or did work to them yourself than BASX is where you want to be. The weight for a BASX wheel is 2.4 grams.

Unless you turned your own wheels on a lathe it is pretty unlikely that your wheels with be under weight for BASX. I believe the real question is whether you think they still qualify for box stock.

ok I ordered a legend box this AM. I'm sure it will not get here in time to ship the car, so I will have to get inventive on the shipping for this one race. just accept my apologies in advance.. /images/boards/smilies/eek.gif

Kinser pm sent.

now for my new problem. I just found out that my company is sending me to Washington dc sunday. I have a scout outing to the USS Alabama that I leave for at 5:30 am tomorrow (7 hour drive)get up at 5 am sunday to drive another 7 hrs to get home just in time to change bags and head to the airport to catch my 5:46 pm flight sunday. I get back Tuesday night so I will not be able to ship until Wednesday. may have to use express shipping.

best advice I can give proxy racers is get your cars ready much sooner then you intend to ship. Stuff always comes up and you'll never need to rush prep or tuning, or cure time, or pay extra shipping.

it makes me sad to say that I will not get to enter into this months race. I just didn't get my ducks in a row soon enough. I'm very disappointed because I wanted to at least see how I did with all you other guys. I knew that I wouldn't win but wanted to see how I sized up and what changes I need to make. I have already started reevaluating my whole process to see where I can do things better, I hope to see you next month.

It's hard to know what you need to do better if you don't know how you did in the first place.
