Has using Tech Wax on axles (apply, let dry, wipe off) gone out of fashion ? I am a little "rusty"

on this oil lube car stuff. We used this way back in 2010, but I haven't heard anything about it lately.

Do you have DD4H DVD? I did not see it used in there. Also check to see if that wax has any carnuba in it??? I heard to stay away from that

i use to do the tech wax axle prep, and found out that most of the multi layer multi different waxes , 25 step plan to a faster car was at BEST just a little slower than using the DD4H method. problem is that all the different steps cost more and if you mess up just one then the whole prep is junk. not saying there are not guys that do the complicated method, just i found it wasnt for me and soon after learning the DD method i found speed.( at least in one class )

Thanks for the feedback. I agree its not in the video and not talked about these days. I might try it anyways becaue of I am used to doing it. We'll see. Hard to see how it would hurt.

I have done it in the pass & had some speed; but found I was just as fast without it after playing around with some other things

It is a Mcquire's wax actually called.. Tech 2.0 and it usually is in a flashy box but is in a nice looking purple container. Tech 2 has many good qualitys listed on the MSDA sheet. I know of a few racers who use this stuff on the axles as well as the inner whelbore(as the final step) and have had success in doing so. BUT, I PREFER TO STICK WITH WHAT HAS BEEN PROVEN TO WORK AND WIN , AND THAT IS THE PROCESS THAT JOHN HAS SO KINDLY GIVEN TO ALL OF US !! ALTHOUGH, THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH TRYING ANYTHING YOU WANT TOO.. I KNOW I HAVE !! BUT BE PREPARED FOR YOUR RESULTS TO NOT ALWAYS BE GOOD. GOOD LUCK !!!
