I have measured every possible spot in my house and a 42 foot track will just not fit, if I took a section out and ran maybe a 35 foot would it give me enough data? I even thought for just a minute about the sidewalk out front, but the wife/neighbors would really have something to say/talk about then. We run a 35 foot Best track at the pack level but Districts runs the longer track and that is where the glory is. On another note does any one in the STL have a track that would rent out some track time and does not mind the dirty nasty graphite? I have ideas mostly very bad already tried ideas, but just maybe one will be enough for that elusive edge.

Are you going to buy a BestTrack? I originally thought that I did not have enough room for a 42' and ordered the 35" but when I got it set up I realized that I did have enough room for another 7' and ordered the 7' section after the fact.

Yes, I was going to order the Best Track and the 35 foot says it is actually 33 feet long and that is the max I could go.
What timer did you go with? I was thinking of the Micro wizard k3, since I only need one lane and the ET only.

Great choice! That is the one that I use and really like it.

35 foot track will give you enough data to tune your car.

I original purchased a two lane 35 foot two lane best track with a micro wizard timer. Works great. I recently ordered an addition 7 feet of track so I can test the cars on a 42 foot track. Since the pros run on a 42 foot track, I wanted to be able to test my cars on a 42 foot track. The pro's are racing on 42 foot so you can get a better idea of how your car will perform at league races. Note if you buy a track I would order the leveling kit and consider going to 42 feet if you can make room and money is not a problem.

Having a track is a lot of fun. I love testing the cars once they are built. I know some pro guys build really fast cars without a test track. That is amazing the they can do this. I am a test and optimize guy. I would never be able to build a truly optimized car without a track.

Good luck and have fun.

Get a two lane if you can. I mainly use one lane to optimize the car. But you need to see how you car runs with other cars. Cars run a little difffernt whan they are racing side by side. In addition, I noticed that one lane on my track seems faster than the other.

Oh, just take the RED PILL right off the bat! LOL

Buy at least a three lane 42' track so you can test cars between two cars also. Can't simulate middle lane traffic on a two lane track. If you can't fit the extra 7', you can use that section to check your slow roll on a bench and if you move the track to a larger venue you'll have the extra piece already fitted so you can pop it in.

No, I sure didn't see that till you sent it to me. I would of been the new owner if it was listed a day sooner.
I already ordered a Best Track 2 lane 42 foot with levelers and with the same K3 timer.
Timer will be here tomorrow and the track a bit later.
I may see if he will part with the CD of the GrandPrix Race Manager software, I was thinking I could use it to record all the test runs?
