Thank you!

There is no way Pledge is against the rules. It dries. Totally. Ever used it on furniture? Did your furniture stay wet? Plenty of things start off wet and end up dry. The rule in no way means "must start off dry". Just means that it can't be a wet lube. If it's not wet while it's doing the lubricating, it's dry.

While I have my opinions on Pledge, it wasn't Pledge that I was talking abut in my post.

If you think it is wrong then don't do it. Let's spend the energy trying to change stupid rules.

OPA:
If you are running against me, my grandchildren (30+), or any of the 100's of scouts I have helped all over our nation, you will be running against cars prepped with tiny drops of residual oil.

LEGION:
Me too.

Those are the facts. No matter your personal opinion, rationalization or justification -- Those are really the "end-all" facts.

Wheels ........ My two cents. I have mentored 4 different scouts and their dads and they have all finished 1 in their packs and districts races and when racing against each other, finished 1 2 3 in last years council race and 1st and 4th in this years council race (4 needs to make a few necessary design changes ie: wedge; the two other scouts did not participate in this years council race) ALL using stock wheels right out of the box completely untouched, all with different mold numbers AND with BSA zinc axles (last year) and BSA SS standard axles which were legal this year. They waxed cars with aftermarket lathed wheels, BSAX wheels, super grooved SS axles, parents trying to push all the limits, etc. I was one of three inspectors at the Council race inspecting cars - we saw it all. And ya know what, they won fair and square following the rules beating cars who were trying not to - what a concept! Playing fair. My advice ........ spend more time building a better car, perfecting the process of prepping your wheels and axles and spend less time trying to bend the rules. You and your scout will feel better about winning.
