To all the people here Thank you so much for the help and info.

So yesterday was Local troops Girl Scout race. Nice race, went well. There will be more on that when I get pics and stuff.

So my question or two with a little lead up. We get the 49' best track set up, cleaned. Ok got my other new cars out not racing that day. nearly the same cars rear axles 5/8 form rear just over 5" wb, COM roughly 11/16 both set to 4" in 4' One set of cheetahs, on the grooved 92's, one set of nitros. both John's graphite. Rear fenders. These cars are my first rail runners. 3.7 sec My old stock bsa cars can do that. (I was hoping for sub 3.6 and yes I realize can't compare tracks apples to apples.) Now admittingly, I did not get a full prep on wheels and axles because I was slow to order didn't get till sat and didn't get home from work until 9pm. The wheels only got red rocket and only 12 hours cure. I didn't do step one cause they looked better than my out of box wheel done with step one and two. So there's one flaw. Second flaw 92s weren't done either.

So, yes, my prep was lacking. Feels like I'm missing something. So race starts. Here's my daughter car with four fenders, oob wheels and axles 3.65. Yes, she one, more on that later.

So I feel like I'm missing something. Also how the H do you add graphite with drilled hole and no slots???

Are you saying that you raced the stock BSA cars the same day that your new cars ran? How did you drill the axle holes for the new cars?

All cars were drilled with silver bullet. all 3 cars responded the same to roll check forwards and rear. The two cars didn't race, I just had them out to tune. Ran out of time and didn't make any head way and when there times came In I was baffled.

It is very difficult to compare cars based on different track setups. I wouldn't worry to much about times unless you are comparing cars that were run on the same track on the same day.

To answer your question about graphite, I personally currently have a the Max V graphite which came with a long needle type applicator. I just add the graphite between the body and the wheel then between the wheel and the axle head. The best way is to remove the wheels and add the graphite if possible.; however, I don't have a track to tune on, so I personally do not like removing the wheels once tuned (which really is only the DFW I would need to worry about).

What were the hundreths in the times of all three cars? A difference of .001 is pretty big. To give you perspective, at my son's districts the difference in 1st and 30th was .01.

Bad Picture I know one forum at a time please. The blue and black (first two cars) are 3/8 and the white car is 7/16 thick. On the plus side The white car being .05 sec faster then fastest previous (not pictured) build is a gain. And a gain is a gain! .05 Would have put my son scout car .025 ahead of winner instead of .025 out of first and .005 ish out of a trophy at seventh. The white car is stock wheel base, with slots stock wheel and axles.

EDIT: .05 gain (at district race)
