Hey Chris, I picked up the Poorman's one from HarborFreight! $80 I do like it!!! I shape the front and make fenders with it!!

Hooking up the Vacuum to it really helps!!!! (has a place underneath)

Thanks Shawn! That looks like it's a much better value. Is it very loud? I'm getting old and I don't like loud things anymore. I have no idea how loud the Porter Cable is. I do have a $300 pair of Pro Ears Industrial muffs that I can use.

I had both,I.e.with a Rigid EB4424. Only kept the Rigid. IMHO, it's much superior. John, you have one, what is your opinion?
I think Opa has this nailed. The RIDGID is so much better than the HF. The HF has enough internal vibration that it needs TLC to return screws to where they belong, etc., enough to be annoying. No question you can do a lot with it, I have a ton with it, but I WANT the RIDGID. The RIDGID replaces the HF and a spindle sander. For a small shop area, this is key.

I plan on hitting up all the local Home Depot stores until one takes the HF 25 % off coupon (or at least gives me 20 % off) the RIDGID.

That Rigid belt sander looks handy!
A belt sander/ spindle sander sounds about perfect for Rigid quality/ usage
Ryobi is another story though.
If anyone comes across a Ryobi product that actually does anything I would be amazed.
