Well part way through my first prep session with the tuning board. Man it is awesome! Being able to dail it right in is great. The print with the colors and markings makes it so easy! My SS isent as fast as the past but it's as good as its going to get. I would mess with it but 6 cars racing this month if I can't hit it on the first shot it is what it is.

I think I said this before, but I will say it again. With a tuning board you don't alway have to line cars up straight down the board. With a car like a funky Street Rod that is hard to line up because the body is curved and you can't tell exactly where straight is at.... just line up the DFW on the mark and the rear behind the dfw right on the same line. Tune it to a number and then run the car... keep playing with it until it runs the fastest and is stable. Use the numbers to make small changes up or down. The actual number doesn't matter... you just want to make small changes in steer and see how it changes the car stability and speed. You can always try and line the car straight down the board at the end to see where it compares to your other cars. I say all this because it is crucial to place your car at the exact same starting point each time on a tuning board, but some cars that is very difficult (like a street rod).

Re. Street Rod tuning. I had the same problems as 5kids. After much testing, I finally took the body (B4 mating it to the platform) and drew an outline on my 8' tuning board, and dertermined the steer from there.
AS to staging, I staged the rear wheels exactly equadistant from the rails, and the nose dead center. I then played around with the NDW, to the point where the distance between the NDW and DFW were the also the same from the rails (but much tighter), and then tuned the veer based upon the pre-determined staging position. 5kids and StoneCold have years more pinewood experiance than me, so we will see the results in October. If they kill me, then throw this posting away.

Well it's all over, almost. 6 cars is a lot to tune! Real happy with a couple and have no clue about a couple.(stubby, SR) The thing that make me the happiest is that I finial got my SP to run some decent #'s. but thats today, we'll have to see how they hold up for this weekend.
