Weight Behind Rear Axle OK?

We measure the clearance with the tech tool - I forget the actual distance.

You know - I don't think the subject has actually come up at either the pack or district level. We just measure the car. The only fenders I have seen to date were these little plastic things that were mounted to the flat plank bodies. Tiny compared to what was in the video.

From the tests done it looks like fenders cut .005 off your time? If that is true then sooner or later someone is going to put fenders like those on and the controversy will start. Fortunately I am on the rules committee for both the pack and districts so I will make sure that the subject is addressed in writing ahead of time.

I would be interested in finding a nice premade body (axle slots not holes) for testing and practice. Get it down over the summer. But everywhere I look online the bodies are all fancy shapes.

Derby Dad for Hire sells a pre-drilled block that you can get axles cut. Holes are far superior to get consistency out of a car. Our rules mandate slots but we fill and drill.
