Is 15.3 g enough weight on the DFW?

Ladder body.
5" wheel base.
4.995 oz. total weight.
COG is a hair under 1/2", which is a little more aggressive than I wanted.
3" steer over 4'.
35' 4-lane Best Track, but does have a rough spot in one lane that has caused cars to come off the track in the past.

If the track is rough, as you say, 4"-5".

If the spot causes the cars to come off, look at the rough spot if possible, if it is on the left rail, make it right hand dominant front wheel, if it is on the right, make it let hand dominant front wheel. Just a thought.

Also, you could bring this up to a race organizer, some sandpaper, metal polish and a bit of cleaner would eliminate the problem and would only take a few minutes the day of the race (volunteer to do it yourself if necessary). If there have been multiple cars jump the track, then I think you could appeal to them that you don't want a Scout’s day to end due a broken car that could have been easily avoided.

We race on a VERY rough track. Our first year my son's car was the fastest of the day by far, but the day was cut short when his car jumped the track twice in the same spot, sustaining significant damage on the second jump. We race on a point system (not time) so that knocked him out of contention. The following year I volunteered to run the derby. The first thing I did once the track was set up was to sand that particular joint and put thin packing tape over others that I thought were a problem and felt were too big to sand. Good luck!
