What is Tamiya Swab Item number in the Black Ice Kit

the 87106 swabs are the ones to use... they are slightly larger, but will fit down to size for the wheel bores.
Thanks guys. In my haste to post earlier I typed the swab number wrong. I have two packages of the 87106s from my local Hobby Lobby and they are slightly smaller in diameter then the ones in the Black Ice kit. I am not sure if Tamiya changed them or they are packaged wrong? Please tell me where you purchased yours so I can get some of the "good ones". Hopefully someone can sugest an online merchant. If they initially fit into your bores snugly, then they will work. You don't want something that is too tight (opens the bores) or too loose (just doesn't do the job). The 87106s you have should be fine for them... Unless the bore is already "wallered" out. If that is the case, it doesn't matter what swab you use, you will have problems with those wheels on your axles.
Thanks again for the reply. I am leaving out to many details. The swabs that came with the kit fitt snugly. The 87106s I purchased at Hobby Lobby are slightly smaller in diameter and do not hold the wheel all that well when going to polish the inner and outer hubs. All of my wheels are from DD4H. I am just looking to match the swabs from the Black Ice kit. I will post a picture a little later. That I hope will show the differences. Any help would be great, I am wondering if the swabs I purchased were boxed wrong or Tamiya changed the swab? I would buy more swabs from DD4H but he is not offering them separate from the kit like pipe cleaners. Thanks

Many 106 have a slightly thicker end of the triangle closer in shape to the 107 and need to be compressed with an old wheel before using. Nothing bad about using a 106, but, The swab in the video of Black ice is NOT the same as the 106 which is was shipped. The best swab is much harder to come by. Look at the video again and see which swab matches. That is the best one.
I use the 104 and it is snug, although it does compress quickly. When I try to use black ice in the same way as DD4H's video, it doesn't hold the wheel tightly as I spin the wheel and apply black ice to the inner hub, edge and outer hub.
If that is the method in which you are polishing your outer hub, you could always polish the hub first, prior to doing the bore.
Thanks B_Regal! I saw the thread mentioning cotton rounds and will try that along with your advice. I definitely need to improve my wheel prep....and my axle prep....and a dozen other things....
I get the 87106 from hobby lobby. its a little tight when dry and on its 1st time through the bore, after that is a nice fit.
Tried the Tamiya swabs this weekend, and was stoked when I got them....but I gotta say, I'm kind of underwhelmed at the results. I couldn't get the bores shiny. They weren't as shiny as before I started. Tried different speeds, 3 different types of polish, and just wasn't satisfied.
Went back to the good old Studio 35 Q-tip stalks and my shine returned. Not sure what I was doing wrong, but I was definitely not happy with the results using the Tamiyas. Sure loved the idea of them, though.
