Talking about SS...When most parts are equal, DD4H drilled block, DD4H cheetahs, DD4H 92 axles, new Gee fenders, tungsten cube weight, washers, jig and oil. All that said, most of us shape our block as thin and light as possible. My question is what percentage of time do you focus on each stage of building your cars? is it 10% on design and aerodynamics, and 40% axle prep, 40% wheel prep, 10% alignment??? Not asking for secrets revealed just percentages???

with johns block, prob doesn't take 10% of time. when drilling my own its equal to wheel and axle prep, maybe more 'cause I usually don't get it right the first time. LOL. I'd guess you're break down is pretty close. more time to wheels, than axles, cause of wait and cure time.

Base on your order presented Chief; drilling, cutting and shaping my own blocks I would have to say 50%, then 20% & 20% for wheel bore and axle prep and finally 10% for alignment. This would be for the common thin body design. The SR build is a totally different story from what I have experienced thus far.

20% Shaping body (the hard part is already done when John drills the block), 20% alignment and weight placement, 60% wheel and axle prep. The speed is found in the prep, I haven't done this sport for very long but I found out fast that your prep is crucial to a fast car. As long as your body is aerodynamic your good, but your prep is what will take you to the top IMHO.

I give each of those items 100%. I don't quit until I'm satisfied.

Ahhhh.... I would have to agree with Kinser, 100% focus in all aspects of the build. Which I would believe that no one here gives less than that most of the time.
