Thank guys for the well wishes. I decided that since the gang here has been so friendly and generous with the help I would try to do something fun here. I'd like to run a contest that's sorta like Reverse Bracket Racing.
Race day is on Saturday. I'll be part of the crew setting up the track and running the derby. As mentioned earlier in this thread, we're done with Cub Pinewood, but I hope to be able to get in a few runs with this car before or after the derby;
My goal is to get in 5 runs. Post your best guess on the
average time to three decimal places for the 5 runs (or however many it ends up being). Closest guess gets a prize (of my choosing).
Here's the relevant information; It's pretty much a Scout legal car. It's running on three wheels, and set up as a rail runner. It's got graphite, and scout legal wheels (well maybe not the NDFW that I burned while turning it and now has a bit of "texture" !). Right now my scale says it weigh's 4.92 oz (but we all know that's in question!) My hope is to weight it up to 5 oz. on the Pack scale on race day. In the interest of transparency, I have to tell you that one of the rear wheels and axles came off during the test runs on the shorty track. But it should be fixed by race day.
Track is a 42 ft Best Track. Champ Timer, manual gate, timer starts on a mechanical snap switch on the gate drop.
Entries close on Saturday evening 5pm PST.
