I find that a lot of you guys really get hung up on that number on the tuning board. If a car has 6 inches of steer, this should not induce a heart attack. The only number that matters is the one on the timer. Quicktime told me that he once had a car that was running something like 12 inches over 4 feet....and he won a National Championship with it. (And yes, this is the exception, not the norm).
No car is the same, they all want something a little different. If a car is very aggressively weighted, it will most likely require more steer. Keep in mind, the front will be lighter so its less weight plowing the rail which will have less impact than a car with a heavier front.
