ok this has been posted about 100 times but what do I have laying around the house I can use to get the proper gap between wheel and body. Credit card, business card, lid from something?

A credit card is to thick cor graphite I go about half as thick
I don't have the ability to eyeball it yet. I have had good luck with setting mybgsps around .010 for oil and just under .015 for graphite. For graphite I have used a business card with a piece of tape on it to get the gap where I wanted it. Business cards vary in thickness. I think duck suggested a cereal box which I thought was a good idea. My calipers literally just died as I was going to go around measuring stuff so I cant give you exact measurements.
Yeah, I use a cereal box for graphite . But it’s a little thicker than most like to go.
Lately I just eyeball it. So much easier and works better than you’d think.
