Which Street Stock division do I race in???

Fair enough. As a new racer with only 2 races under my belt, I feel as though there should be a place for the new guys to start and get there feet wet. Sometimes the "Pro" word can be a little intimidating to a new guy. Some people are just more inclined to build faster cars or have the drive to beat the best. There are others that may enjoy building them and racing them but have no intention or may not have the ability to build sub 2.98 cars and thats OK. But, just like real race cars, everyone needs a class to get them in the hobby. I do think there is a need for the amateur class, but there is no need for builders with in .02 of the "Pro" guys running amateur. Just my opinion... and I will be with the big dogs next race!

So my first proxy event in the SS AM class and I managed an average of 2.9761. So sub 2.98. Does that bump me into the pro class? Or will I get some more chances at a first place finish in the AM class? Also who do I talk to about getting a badge?

Ted, the rules for the MOTM tournament state that if you enter as an Amateur you complete the tourney as an Am. You'll be a Pro after the MOTM concludes. This is the rule that I am quoting:

Whatever Street Stock class you start in is what you will race for the entire tournament. You will be moved to the pro classification if you are using a pre built car from the vendors. We do not want people buying cars and racing them in the Am class. If you have been put in the Pro status because of this and want to move back I will allow that but please build your own cars if you are racing Am. Also if you have been league racing for years and can run the times that will qualify you as a pro but have not raced at NPWDRL then please do not enter the Am class.

I believe Reso handles the badges. It takes a little while to get them done. It will magically appear in your sig line! You don't need to do a thing.

Yep Bracket we have some rough roads ahead of us. OTO and Ted are both super fast, I just hope we get the pro put in the right division so us true AM's can really duke it out. My brother once again says he will be entering a car in the next race, "yet to be seen" and he will be fast too, he's a way better builder than me. I can't wait to see how everything unfolds.

It looks like I just missed getting the Pro badge this time, but I am very happy with the Sub3. I am going to try and find some more speed so I can keep up with you guys next time, you were all fast. Still haven't figured out what happened with that one slow run I had, but racing with you guys was a blast. See ya next month!!

To ALL the AM racers you guys did a great job we did have some fast cars. That final race of the day was epic at the finish line.

OK OTO, I might even reprep RM II for our next meeting! I don't think I'll have time to get another car done. Too much family stuff going on this month! RM II is too heavy to add fenders so they will have to wait for another day.
