Who is Ready for the Mid America Pinewood Derby 2017 - updated

Thanks. I looks like the Patriots and Seahawks will be battling it out at MA. Best of Luck to you as well.
Lol...I'm hoping for a last second interception...but this year it's all about the come from behind win...lol

What are the names of your cars, so we can watch for them? Unfortunately it looks like we'll have to watch the live feed here at home. We really wanted to do a road trip to Omaha but it doesn't look like we're going to make it...Good Luck again! I was told that, last year they had about 130 racers in the open Scout graphite division.

Are you going to run graphite devision. We will be running oil. Our Distrcit race allowed oil so the cars are set up for Oil.
The cars are called Hawks in the Bear Deivision, the second car is Freddie in the Tiger, Sibling car is Moana.

Nice Names, yeah we're running graphite. We've never used oil since our pack and District are strictly graphite. I guess the SeaHawks aren't gonna get any redemption from the Patriots this year...lol...maybe next year we might try our hand at oil...I'll have to do some studying.
Our cars names are Ash (the orange flames), blue blaze, Patriots 1 and Patriots 2. Blue Blaze and Patriots 2 will be in the open adult division and Ash and Patriots 1 will be racing in the open scouts graphite Bear division.

OK, I will make a second seahawks tonight with graphite so we can go head to head. Go Hawks!!!!!!!! Revenge is best served on the Track!!!!! Best of Luck to you. We will be watching on the internet as well. Maybe next year I take my boys to the races. Ballastic is thinking about going as well someday.

Hard to say. Dirty wheels can make a big difference, but I'm betting that track will be filthy in short order anyway. So, at most you'd probably have only gotten one clean run.

Don't let it bother you. Sit back, enjoy the races, and take it as a lesson learned for next time. :)

I have been following this thread and the other one about cleaning the wheels off before the race, complete irony today that my nephews car finishes second by 1/1000th of a second total time to a car with the wheels smothered in graphite, they were literally grey, I couldnt believe it. they let you relube before they take the cars for the council race and the winners were running the wheels through a pile of graphite on a plate , got to talking to the dad and figured if you cant beat em join em, i rolled my car through the lucky plate also. graphite on the wheels didnt beat us though car would get loose halfway down the home stretch , wiggles cost me more than a 1000th i am sure. need to learn how to steer a 4 wheel touching car. but off to council none the less..... have pics and video will post a thread tonight or tomorrow, have to get my daughters car boxed up for the post office in the morning. Mid America here we come :)

Oh No! Not Eli...but, as jatofau1 put it revenge is best served on the track...lol...The Giants have been the Patriot's Achilles Heal but those days are over...we aren't escared of no Eli Manning, he's nothing without his receivers...so bring it...lol
Sincerely TW, Good Luck Saturday!!!

I don't want to scare you guys but our last Patriot's car won Pack and Districts already this year and those cars we just sent to Mid America are at least a car length faster than that car on our masonite test track. I'm not saying we're good enough to win but I do have some high hopes of finishing in the top 12...
I really am anxious to see how we do, I think I'm more anxious for Saturday morning to get here than my grandson is...lol

Oh and I have to add:
In the District Bear division it was a double elimination race and 1 car beat him on the first run, then he won the next 2 runs to win the Bear division.
In the overall District race (double elimination again) 2 different cars beat him once, then he won the next 2 races against both of them for the come from behind win.......
All I can say is "Go Patriots" lol!!!

Finished my daughter's Youth entry up tonight. Sending it in the morning.
She called it the Fail Train. The way this build went, kind of last-minute, it probably will be, but we'll see.
