What fender designs are the top NPWDRL racers using - EVO balsa, Gee, Pine, etc. Thanks!

Falcon, the quickest non scientific method to figure this out is to look at the fastest cars each month in street stock. They all have one thing in common... GEE fenders.

I think they maybe all using a slightly different oil process too.
hmmm

Going to be available very soon. Dealing with packaging right now. My plant manager says it will be ready to go this weekend.

What are you going to call it? Just curious.

NPWDRL No. 10 /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif (Chanel No. 5) Sorry bad humor there.

Thanks for the compliment Reso, hopefully anyone on the fence about GEE fenders vs making them will see the light. I cannot believe how long I spent making fenders just to have half of them end up not quite to my liking and end up in the scrap heap.

You have no idea. My first Gee fender car looks so much cooler, for no work.

I am a stubborn SOB and so I will learn from the design and move on.

It is the way I am wired and I would not recommend it.

So John ........ when installed, the Gee fender is not quite as wide as the wheel especially in the rear where they move outward due to cant. This is by disegn - is this correct? By extending the fenders outward in order to cover the entire wheel, you are actually creating more drag then. Also, should the fenders be angled to reflect the canting of the rear and DFW? Thanks.

G fenders. In the bottom cut out for track clearance, you are using a L (but upside down) cutout. I think it would be better with a curve (e.g. C but sideways). that would decrease the air drag against the bottom of the wheel underneath the car.

Hi Opa,

Like a radius on the inside corner of the upside down "L"?

Thanks,

You can make your own fillet with a Popsicle stick and a dab of vinyl spackle. The end radius of the Popsicle makes a nice drag form to fill in that area. Sand, paint and you are done.

YES -- I am going to take a set and attempt to modify them using something to do the same (some epoxy and then touch it up with a dremmel). I will test B4 and after. I'll post the results.

How did that full body one work out for you that you have in your avatar?

I built two cars last month that were exactly alike with the exception of the fenders.
Home made fenders = 2.99 - 9th place
Gee fenders = 2.98 - 2nd place.
I have more Gee fenders on order but will need to use hand made ones for the May race.
