The Girl Scout race was last Saturday and they awarded trophies to Girl Scouts and Open Class racers; for “Speed”, and two design categories: “Olympic Pride” and “Best Motor Vehicle”.

And the kids did well...

For our pack, if a scout wins his den and also wins pack overall, he just gets one trophy (the overall one) and the engraving just says den winner and pack overall winner....rather than two separate trophies....sometimes I think the kids would rather just get two trophies LOL....

Our district finals and state finals are coming up in May however so just biding our time until then....the pack and districts hold on to the cars right after the pack races, but we are allowed to rework on them about a few weeks before the race at the district center so....not much in the way of pulling axels and wheels but at least regraphiting them. I think if I can find a quiet area where im undisturbed I would pull the axels, wipe down clean with an alcohol pad, dry, repledge then reinstall and regraphite so .... will have to see what happens while im there...this is our first year getting to districts so its all new to us! Should be a lot of fun no matter what the outcome....
