I use my tuning board to check the drill job and alignment of my car bodies before moving too far into the build. I have learned every one of these steps here on how to build the speed square jig, how to build light bodies, and how to drill axle holes and check for wheel migration. This site is a wealth of info, just want to say thank you! I am a visual learner so i figured I would show a quick shot of what would take me pages to explain in writing.

Nice work on the car and the video Bulldog!

When you use the speed square, do you need to select the length of the screw to keep the body level for the test?

I use a thumb tack and push the body down until it is "level". When I'm really feeling my OCD, I'll stick a wheel in the DFW and push down until the wheel touches, then remove the wheel. I use .086 axles for this to easily insert and remove the wheel.

If you do this (check height with a dummy DFW) and run southpaw like me, you'll need to flip square over so the hypotenuse is the low side.
