i am running rear fenders only this year. that may change later, but i just had a thought. i know that most if not all the champion cars have fenders, but while i see the benifits of rear fenders, would the front fenders with the more aggressive angle actually slow down the car by causing more down-force than any benefit gotten by shielding the wheel? the down-force could also stabilize the front end though. guess what i am asking is have any of you guys ran the same car with and without front fenders, without changing anything else?

The angle in the front is still going to be a lot less that the angle of the wheel. It more that likely will not give you a huge gain to put fenders on the front. It could even slow the car down it really depends on the way you make your fenders and the way the car turns out in the end. There is one thing about it, if you test the car before you paint it, you can decide if you want to keep fenders or not. If not just saw them back off and sand the body back smooth. I would run the car without fenders in a dirty air situation and then run it with fenders in a dirty air situation and see what works the best for yourself. What works for one may not work for some one else and what works for one car may not necessarily work as well for another car. Know what I mean? I think sometimes a person look for what ever they do to their car to have a big gain of .003 or something around that when in all actually once you get to a certain point those huge gains few and far between. Anything that gives you the slightest gain in speed keep it. The expression I'll use here is penny's make dollars. Know what I mean?
