Well here is my update for my sons trip to District Race... We did not fly off the track, my choice to change the steering, we did not take it to 5" we left it at 3-3/4" ... We did not move the weights, WE DID clean the wheels, we did the prep like stated in the threads, We did sand down the the wheels, I used Nuvus 2 to remove the scratches from the wheel, We gave it One Hell of a Run....
I am very proud of my son for putting in so much time learning how to build his car.. My final words before we went into the room.... No matter what happens today I am very proud and I love you .. HAVE FUN!!! CHeer on those who are faster and do what you do best... Be yourself...

My son and his car picture
Oh Did I mention he took Second Place at Districts...... The race was very close for 2nd and 1st.... My sons car was ever so close by hundredth of a seconds...
Some of our cars from 2010 with his newest car on top!!! Sitting on top of the bookshelf...Big Muddy Districts 2nd place trophy sits in our living room tonight...
His car did not fly off the track!!!! It did however hace a front wheel hop at the bottom for the run right before the timer... All races were close very very close.... I will have the times for his run hopefully in a couple of days.. They will email the printed sheets to us...
Talked to the dad of the first place Scout... The have extended wheel base keep wheels straight non canted & no steering adjustment, weights are mounted up middle section to front of the car....
I would like to thank you all for all the input and advice these last couple of days trying to figure out how to take on the Hump Track... My Hat is off to everyone here from the newest racer to the most Tenured racer....
Respectfully
