Black Ice, jig, with Hater Sauce!

Just tried the Black Ice process and saw my reflection in the wheel bores. I sprayed my axles with Jig, and also tried the Hater Sauce for the first time. I put the car together and took it to the tuning board. I set the car down and I’m not kidding, it almost rolled off the table under it’s own power. I set my steer and rolled the car and the wheels made a loud screaming noise like a fire engine siren. Is that noise normal? The car feels incredible and effortlessly glides across the board. I have a great feeling about this car and can’t wait to get it to the track. Am I correct in thinking that fire engine howl when the car rolls is a good thing?

It is the tread bumps making the noise.

Normally the quieter the wheels/axles are, the faster the car. If I were to guess, I think you might be hearing the wine from the decorative bumps along the outer edge of you DFW.

Yep, tread bumps. If your rules state the bumps cannot be touched, then that is what you are stuck with.
Removing them will definitely quite the car down and probably pick up a few thou.

Can you have less of an axle bend and avoid the bumps? I hate o take the wheel off because the car feels perfect.

You can still be very fast running on the tread bumps. I'd rather do that than run less bend in the axle.

This makes sense now because it’s my sons first Cub Scouts car and I’m using Rage Wheels. I usually buy the league Cheetah racing wheels without the tread bumps on my own cars. I’m going to leave it as is because it’s already pushing the rules and pretty extreme for a Scout Car. Excited for The Son of Revenge of 85’s first race. I’ll let you know how he does.
