Can oil be used if I have chosen to run "pinecar" wheels n stock axles? I have thought that I would only be eligible for oil if I had a tighter tolerance between the wheel bore and axle. I have used graphite prior and I wanting the learn/expirent with using oil but I'm not sure it applies in my circumstance. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated. I am also aware that purchasing the best axles/wheels is the simplest answer.

I dont see why not. The only thing that better wheels and axles will do is make you that much faster. If you do your oil process correctly you should IMO be faster than anyone using graphite. If you do not have DD4H's DVD you might want to get that. I sure helped me... Good Luck

Cool I had thought that oil could only be helpful on tight fitting assemblies. I'll give it a try.

I have researched DuPont which seems like a great place to start, obviously DD has their blend as well. I am in a race (not until end of the year unfortunately) that requires only pinecar parts so that is why I'm stuck on not using store bought parts. I'm at a slight disadvantage by not having a test track to tinker on but will see what tuning alone will yeild. As always thanks for the feedback.

Can you use Derby Dad Graphite? It is very fast. Doing oil on your own can actually make the car slower. WIth the Derby Dad DVD and polishes and oli it is very fast.

You said PineCar wheel and AXLES. Do you mean those long axles that go all the way thru the body? If so, I have experimented with them. In SS class the would be verboten. In many BSA councils, they are also forbidden. However, that being siad, I found a way to make it work, BUT I found out those axles are made from a material that is severly sub standard. It won't take a good prep, the type using DD4H procedures. They simply won't shine like they should. PM me if you want procedures.

W, yes graphite is acceptable to use.
Oparennen, nail type axles is what I've been using I thought the "one piece" axles fit the wheel bore much better but were harder to modify n prep.
