car bodies

Looks like I may need to get one of those laser-thingy-ma-bob-do-hickey-cutters.

All joking aside, nice work Joe! An artist for sure. Can't wait to see the final product.

Thanks fellas,

You got it.

The jig is the idea

I figured that now that I have an idea where I want things, then I would just put them there and build the car around it.

Nice jig there Joe, need to see more of it.

Thanks pal,

This shot demonstrates the idea a little more clearly

As long as certain "touch points" are adhered to then the builder is free to do as he wshes

Frankly, right now I'm more wowed by your jig setup...

That is probably the most elaborate PWD jig ever.

Any of you fellas seen the aluminum derby around here?

Ok.

This jig is awesome!

This would have taken me so long to figure out any other way.

This baby is coming in at a feather-light 6.6g

I have a few more things to add to her but the best part is the process.

As long as there are dots to connect then the rest is just playing.

Is this legal for SS at 45*?

As long as I don't dip between the rails with the wheel I am all good. Right?

Thanks

I'll let DD4H answer your question since it's not my place to say......but is that wheel attached to the side of the body Joe?

From the rules:
"4 Axles & Wheels must be installed to the side of the car body directly across from one another / No more than a 45 degree angle"
"* Wheels must clear the outside to outside center rail width measurement"

Hi BR,

It is not attached to the body yet but it certainly can be.
From my viewpoint it adheres to the rules just like any other 45* car.
It is directly across from the DFW , and at less thAn 45*. It is inside out here but I have run that before on the raised wheel. The only grey area is the "outside the rails part".
I interpret this to mean that no wheel can hang between the rails.
