Dynasty 4 Wheel Touching Plug and Play

Based on our recent build the answer is no, you will have to bend the axle and add steer or move weight forward. John recommended 1.75 oz behind the rear axle, but we had already epoxied 12 cubes behind the rear axle and 10 cubes in front of the rear axle. The car is a p n p block 3 wheel rail runner, 5 inch wheelbase 4 wheels attached, with pine fenders. Initially the front wheel had .55 oz on it, we put all the remaining tuning weight in front of the DFW and got the weight on the front wheel up to .74 oz. We ran the pack race on a 6-lane 42' besttrack the car wiggled on most runs and ran 3.01x - 3.04x which easily won the pack but won't cut it for the district race.

Thanks STI45! We made it through the Pack race with a car made from scratch with DD4H wheels and axles and advanced to the District. We've got a 3-wheel Dominator p-n-p that should be coming this week, so we will go with 8-10 behind the rear axle and let you know how it does.

Well the car that warped and I fixed so that it would turn to the right, won 1st at the pack race. No one was close.
The car I thought was the better of the two and was not worried about pulled in a 3rd. Missed 2nd by 3/4 inch. The car that finished 3rd had a wiggle when it hit the bottom. No track time, so we couldn't really fix it.
District race this Saturday, so we will re-prep the wheels and axles. I am going to try and put more steer in it and tighten the gaps a little.

Get the gaps good but if it didn't wiggle don't put more steer in it. You could take a little out but realize you're playing with fire by not being able to test it, you might put a wiggle in it. Were you using oil? If so you won't need a reprep. Oil will last. If it's graphite just add graphite and work it in.

Ok, thanks Kinser. One car had a definite wiggle. I may move one cube of tungsten from behind the axle to just in front. I also think I will tighten the gap a little. We have to run "powdered dry lubricant", I was planning to re-wax the bores with RR and burnish in more graphite. Also re-pledge the axles but if it is not
necessary then we won't. The competion will be a lot stiffer in the next race.

This sucks not having a track, may have to get one so I can race with the big Dawgs.

hatfam, if you're using Pledge I would reapply it before the next race. I don't believe the effect lasts more than a few days before it dries up. I put it on the night before, late at night.

OK, I was planning to re-pledge but I will wait until Friday night. Thanks I never thought about the effectiveness after a couple of days.
