FEDX, UPS or USPS

Here is my take on it.

1. USPS, cheaper and always use if you can.
2. in a hurry I think FEDX or UPS are about the Same.
3. Damage to cars. Now here is some info that interesting. I buy alot of computer harddrives wich are very sensetive to shock. And Have noticed there are more problems with harddrives being sent via UPS than Fedx. I've done research on have noticed other computer guys say the same thing.

My 2 cents!

Our cars are no hard drives, but the USPS handles them with disregard to content. I've sent brand new boxes out and they have returned looking like a football at the end of 4 quarters of play. I gathered that if the box is light enough to be tossed around, it will be tossed around and this is why I pack them well inside of the Legend carriers John sells. I've only had one incident in the many times sending in proxy. It's a gamble every time though.

I knew a guy a long ways back that worked at UPS.

He said that when they saw fragile on the box they would spike it.

That being said...

I will probably use UPS

i have been using usps, and the first time i sent in box looked like new..........when i got it back it looked like instead of putting it in the truck they just drug it behind

Looks like (from the USPS text message) that my box was not delivered today because they wanted a signature ! It was Priority Express with some extra insurance.

Why did they do that? Did they have something against Italians?

Does the USPS require a signature to release a package over a certain dollar value?

I think once insurance is applied to the value of the contents they require a signature. At least this is my thought on the process.

When I saw the signature box being pre-checked (and no changes allowed), I believe I went back and took the insurance off, recalculated, and still had that situation. So it might have been just because of the Express delivery. I was rushing, as usual, so I can't be 100% certain.

Also, I think I have added insurance on the regular Priority delivery and NOT had the signature box checked.

i sent a box by express before but i recall that I had to actually click off the signature required which i think is part of the express service....the postage literally said signature not required if i remember right

OK. Simple solution. I went to ship a fictious package. As soon as I checked Express delivery, the (free) signature required box was checked. The way to get rid of it is to check 'None' on the option list. I had tried to deselect 'Signature Required' and that didn't work. Nuff on that !

Thanks for the tip Mario. I had never noticed this before, but then again it never automatically populated this option. May be because of a recent upgrade to the system, who knows.

Houston- we have a problem! This dogs switching to Fed Ex from here on out..

There was another postal worker, seen on the news, that was actually dumping the mail in a dumpster and was caught on camera. They said they are investigating the accusation... lol Nothing like getting caught on video and then saying "It's not what it appears to be".

I can see that problem occurring regardless of the carrier. We have a really good UPS guy, we've had some fed ex guys, not so good. When talking to someone in a different area, they'll tell you the opposite.
