How to pull tough axles out

Have a set of axles that are in pretty tight. Are there any special techniques or tools I can yours to pull them out without damaging my Dynasty wheels?

I saw someone post to use fishing line. I tried this and couldn't get it to work. Maybe if I would have used a larger test it would have. What I ended up doing was digging into the wood with a small flat head screwdriver at about the point where the end of the axle should be. I then just pushed the axle out from there.

For what it's worth, I use a 50lb test braided line (spiderwire) secured under the head with a round turn and two half hitches. Hasn't failed me yet, even with axles glued at the relief hole. Stay away from monofilament. I pull in the direction of the sofa so if the axle comes flying out, at least it doesn't go far and has a soft landing! I also make sure my wife's not in the room to laugh at me.

Put a small groove in the head of each axle like the DFW and rotate it back and forth. They always come out easy but better yet it makes it very easy to get your desired wheel gaps perfect.
