^^^ Haha, I at least had some concept of things to do to make my car faster that others.. so I guess I can call those tricks.. Haha, point being, as nice of a guy as I am, I will by no means help anyone be competative while we are trying to win. Haha.

Hey Hatchattack,

Don't take this the wrong way, but those "tricks" or "speed concepts" you have will quickly go out the window once you start reading more on the subject.

It could have been the staging of the car later in the race.

The fact that you didn't rail run means there is no consistency. At the beginning you may have gotten lucky and the wheels did not bounce on the guide rail much. Later on they did. Without rail running it is a crap shoot.

^^^ Oh no, dont worry, I know I'm bush league. Im just trying to scrap together something better than last year. Now I am trully starting to understand how much research and time I will need to put in for next year.

Me too fella.

You found this forum at an early stage of the journey so you are already way ahead of the game.

Don't burn the boy out too early! My boy Nic quickly faded after a week or two but I'm still full steam ahead.

Several ways to skin a cat, same goes for squaring the drill press. If your table's dished you're screwed. If it's flat then chuck up a straight drill bit or gauge pin and slide the silver bullet up to it and adjust table so the gap is the same. Do this on both sides and also rotate the chuck to account for run out. Some guys chuck up a micrometer and rotate 360*. Either way is close enough for horseshoes and hand grenades. Some presses have an alignment mark but don't trust it, mine is off a degree and I've heard of others being off too. Here's a pic of blocks next to a pin.

Sweet set up!

The cat looks paralyzed with fear!

Thanks Big Dog!
Lucy the cat was focused on her next jump, that's why she looks so intense.

Hey Eccentric,

Don't get me in trouble around here.

Please refer to me as the Chihuhua puppy in posts. Someday I hope to grow to become a pit bull though.

LOL, I'll keep the porch warm for ya. Someday I hope to be a Karelian Bear dog but for now I'm just a Bichon Frise

Ok is it me or does that second picture look like a Johnson? SORRY!!!!
It's not just you.
lol

Laserman, I use photobucket. Kinda a pain but the only way I know how. I use the second link out of the four available.

As an owner of a Cavachon (half Bichon, half King Charles Cavalier Spaniel) I'll have you know my dog is quite fierce and does not look like a wienie......dog.

He frequently chases some of the other bigger dogs in the neighborhood and there is not a sock safe anywhere in our house!

The reason we have such a manly dog is my son has horrible allergies and this very expensive designer mutt does not shed or have dander. You gentleman have offended me!

Just kidding, he really is weiner, I mean winner!

Now back to PWD talk!
