OK, I've got to ask. What is the installation spacer? Can we get a better description or a picture of it? Can't visualize how it would be used.

I'm struggling to understand how these are legal.

From the street stock pro rules ...

Wheels

BSA, Maximum Velocity, Awana, Pinecar

a. May be CnCed, lathed, polished and/or sanded to true the edge of tread, surface and circumference
b. The tread / contact surface must remain flat and parallel to the bore as humanly possible
c. No Angling, Reshaping, Canting, Round Crowning, Tapering, H-ing, V-ing, Dishing, the outside of the wheels and/or tread surface
d. Lettering must remain visible on the inside and outside of the wheel.
e. Wheel covers may be used only if entire wheel is visible
f. 7.50mm Minimum Tread Width
g. Wheels must weigh at least 2 grams and a wheel can be removed after the race to be weighed to confirm weight.
h. The wheels can be trued to get to the 2 gram weight but they are not to be cut down intentionally under the weight limit and use foreign material to bring it back to weight.

I'm guessing the wheel isn't a BSA wheel so there was no lettering to begin with? Edit - yep, just saw this was a Pinecar wheel that doesn't have any lettering.

But I don't get how the wheel well weights don't constitute a wheel cover that makes it impossible to see the inside of the wheel.

Yes the pine car wheels don't have external lettering witch is part of the benefit as well as being able to tape both sides for an overall smaller and aerodynamicaly cleaner wheel. Also during the design of the cavity weights we discussed the visible lettering rule and concluded that the winners get their wheels pulled anyway for inspection after the race.

What I interpreted this as was the installation tool was inserted into the axle hole and a larger diameter on the tool matches the same size of the center hole in the cavity "wheel" weight, which would then be centered around the installation tool. Hope that makes sense.

Now as far as how it is attached? No clue...

I think he is referring to the new raised wheel. It is completely different then the bsa wheel and has no lettering. The rules don't distinguish that the raised wheel doesn't have to have the same rules apply as the rolling wheels.

Ok, I guess I assumed visible meant visible when the car is assembled. Silly me. Oh well, creative interpretation of the rules is part of the fun. And these look like fun mods.

Not to take this too far off topic, but is there really any point to rule d (the visible lettering rule)? That really only seems to apply if you were only allowing BSA wheels.
