This was our first ever PWD. He took first in his den and first in pack. Districts this weekend.

What a great way to start, super !! Cool car ! These will be memories to treasure. I think the excitement is the greatest the first time (was for us at least).

Thanks guys. It was a great day. Its been a month sence our pack race and my son still runs around the house saying (in his announcer's voice ) gunner jones, pinewood derby champion. I just hope that he wont be to dissapointed if he doesnt do well at districts. The bar was set pretty high to begin with. Im skeptical that we will do well. I have learned alot from this forum and this car was built before i found this forum.

well we got 2nd at districts. they didnt even give out trophys. sure do wish i would have found this forum before we built our car. we were close, next year they wont stand a chance.

thanks everyone. he did have a blast. it was really good to get some more track time, i learned alot today.
