So, if I pull the rear axles and wheels off a car, keep the axle inserted into the wheel during removal - add fender washers to the rears and reinsert the axles and wheels - would that work or should I Reprep.

Car actually ran pretty well so just trying to keep the changes to a minimum.....

I would be ok with doing that but I would wait to reinstall until the glue is fully cured on the washers. The vapors from CA glue can be harsh on your wheel polish job. So I would glue the washers to the body with a spare nail (or just a round toothpick) for alignment, let the glue dry, polish the washers, then put the wheels back on.

I have been cutting my bodies at 3 degrees where the washers are going to be attached.[/QUOTE said:
Nice, I wouldn't even know where to begin to try to cut the side of a body at 3 degrees. I have tried a couple other techniques to get a 3 degree angle for the washers but not happy with results just yet - I just ran them at 0 degree this past race (first time I ran washers and was only on 1 of my two cars).

Are you talking about the actual delrin washers or the wind deflectors for the inside of the wheel?

I would try to match the angle of the wheel if you are referring to the wind deflectors. If you are talking about the delrin hub washers, I have a theory on this that matches what has been seen on wheels, axles, etc. The least contact area the better....

I am talking about the wind deflectors - I ran them at 0 degrees / square to the body in the last race.

I try to set my wheel weights and deflectors as close to the wheel edge as possible without interference to the wheel or track.

I agree. I have also started cutting much less off the DFW side of the body because the inside hubs of the wheels are more stubby. With a good bend to the DFA my rears are centered with very little removal of wood on that side, but I am cutting it at an angel to help the wind deflector be attached with less guess work.
