Hi guys! I wanted to ask a question about the amount of steer my son's car should have. I asked another pro about this a few days ago. Car specs as follows. Standard 4 3/8 wheelbase, rear wheels canted 2 1/2°, dominant axle bent to 2 1/2°, straight lifted wheel. The car weighed 4.96 oz. Center of gravity is 3/4" in front of rear axles. I made sure the car rolls straight with the dominant wheel out of the car. My second time building a car so I'm pretty green to say the least. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated.

Every car is different, some cars need more and some less. Pretty sure a good starting point is 4" in 4' on a tuning board. If you have a track to test on you can observe how the car reacts. If the car has wiggle give a little more til it smooths out.

Yeah that is what we ended up with was a bad wiggle it lessened of the course of about 10 runs. Then I asked a pro how to stop the wiggle gave him the car specs he said about 12 inches over 7 1/2 feet.

Wow that's a lot! Maybe not. You may have another issue at hand. Are your wheel gaps good? Wheel gap can have a big impact on the car!

Like I said my son's car got faster after 10 runs or so it was good enough to win Grand Champion of his pack. We are going to the council race in March. Stiffer competition I just want the car to be as fast as possible. Can't build a different car.
