Ive seen where most suggest using a foil tape over large open holes in the bottom of the car. I have some 3/8 holes drilled in a line down the middle of the car, are these large enough I should cover them?

Any reason masking tape or duct tape will not work? I don't have the foil tape.

Foil tape holds the tungsten cubes in the weight pocket and covers voids left around the weight. To cover open cavities that have no weight use whatever tape you like such as clear box tape. Other options would be thin plywood, monocoat, soda cans whatever.

I use smooth masking tape on the bottom. It slows the car if I use it on the top surface. The rough masking tape on the top surface really slows my cars. The masking tape is not strong enough to hold loose weights in though. They must be glued in or use the strong adhesive foil tape for non-glued weights.
