Nice....This is going to be a must have for me. If you attended the CFC you know my eyesight like to play tricks on me...LOL. My K-House Grooves usually look like I guy with bad eyesight did them.....oh wait they are done that way!

I've been using the .6 on sst axles and it's held up good. The fixture wont fit one much thicker. The screw slot files are pretty pricey...about $40 for the one shown. I've been keeping my eye out for some sort of saw blade that will fit. You could also turn down the OD of the 4 rollers on the fixture to fit thicker blades.

Can I assume that this procedure of marking the axles with a groove is for tuning purposes. Allowing you to see how much the axle is being turned forwards or backwards for steering adjustments? . I would also assume this procedure is for those who have bent axles?

And to add to what downslope said.."It is so you can turn the axel with a screw driver to tune". If I were a brand new guy my next question would be how do I tune? You need a tuning table, Quicktime has posted his table build on here and is quite cool!! Also you can get the graphic from DD4H or make your own. Either way your alignment is critical!!!
You should only have a bent axle up front. Do not bend the rears, if you do you will have a alignment nightmare!!! Some people still slot the head of their rear axles just to try and find that sweet spot. I have try it a few times never with any positive results. If you are using high quality axles like the dynasty's they are wickedly straight and round, so a slot on the rear's isn't needed.

I also have the brownels tool but just started using it. I use the small mini hacksaw blades to make the slot and it woks great, I use them by hand. I slotted my rear axles the other night and it worked well, as I usually do I push my rear axles in to far, so by appyling a little pressure so the wheel and turning the axle with a small screwdriver it comes out very easily. No more warping or breaking a wheel
