Tuning scout car???

Does anybody tune their car this way? I have a 6ft piece of glass. The first 2ft I have a 1 5/8 rail in the middle . Then the next 4 ft there is no rail . I start by running the car down the rail part and then watch how much it steers over the next 4ft. Because the fdw is bent down 7 degrees and backs up 2 1/2 . Is this the best way to make sure the car is straight before it runs the 4ft. I currently have 4 inches of steer in car, per what dd4hire said I need. Any input will be helpful. Thx

I have never done it that way but it should get the job done.

I haven't tried to do it that way, but it makes sense.
It assures that you get a similar launch each time.
