We are planing to start the race tomorrow at 1:00. Johns mail doesn't run till 1-2pm on Sat. If we are missing boxes do you guys want us to what for the mail to run? Or start at 1?

It's only fair to wait. The reason I say this is because the last MOTM race was delayed because my cars and 3 others hadn't arrived yet. So you all delayed the start for us so we push the start time back for them also. For that I thank you all.

I just checked with the USPS and they say my cars were delivered to Cedar City this morning at 10:30. Since the post office was closed on Monday for Presidents Day, we lost one day of shipping. I think it would be a good idea to make sure as many cars as possible arrive even if that means waiting an extra hour.

I vote to wait. It would not be an Unlimited race without the reigning Unlimited Champion.

im fine with waiting....people work really hard on their cars and its a shame if it doesn't get to see the track....we all want to race and compete. But to be a bit of a Devil's advocate,

We all know how USPS can get squirrely at times, particularly with the weather and around holidays. As such, we should all make it a point (at least Proxy racers) to do what we can to try and get cars in on-time, even if that means mailing them out a day or two earlier if necessary than what we usually do.

Like I said, im fine with waiting as for me the time of the race, whether its pushed back or not, still allows me to watch most of it....but for others, it could affect people who already planned their schedule to watch. In addition, it just adds that much more stress to the guys who are awesome enough to be there live and run the race for us...they have enough stress and problems to deal with as it is on race day.

Part of racing is not just building the car but planning it out to get it there on time! If stuff happens beyond our control, well chock it up to bad luck....but we certainly can minimize that bad luck possibility it if you just don't put yourself in a position where even a bit of bad chance can screw you up....send early if you can!

We should all try to do our parts to make it as efficient and on-time as we can and make the process go as smooth as possible on race day....I know I may get some flack for this but hey....life wouldn't be interesting without some debate!

Having said that, I just read Zeeb's post on the other topic about registered racers....

Damn man, USPS must have it in for you....you must have worked for UPS or Fed Ex in another life!

This is an example where he sent in early, did everything a person could reasonably do short of carrying it there himself, and it still may get messed up....now that is truly uncontrollable.... short of sending in cars two weeks in advance /images/boards/smilies/frown.gif...may as well just leave the cars there at John's for the next race instead of having it sent back the way USPS has handled the last few shipping attempts ....

Sorry man! Hoping that your cars get there for the race!

John please post the revised SS Am race start time ASAP so that us proxy racers can plan our Sat schedule accordingly. I am OK with the delayed start but need to know the revised time so that I can watch it online.

If I had to venture a guess I would say the Novice and Am's will be starting the show sometime after 1 MTN time. Reading into it, I'll take another guess to say a 2 o'clock start time, MTN time, based on USPS delivery times per QT's original post.
