Out of curiousity, if you prep your wheel bore weeks or even months before you intend on running the or putting them on a car, will they remain in race condition if you keep them in a dust free environment?
If you do it right, the prep should last a long time. On my cars, the speed seems to drop off a little after 50 runs. I’ve pulled cars out of the box after sitting for six months and they run the same. It’s just like waxing your car. The more it’s washed and exposed to the elements, the quicker it wears out.
Thanx R85, wasnt sure if it "stayed good" or if it would dry out or something, idk. Didnt know if they would be good to go or need rewaxed or buffed. Really had no idea
The wax also has a curing process and curing time. Most waxes cure from UV light (Sun light) and the longer you wait the harder the wax will become. Keep your wheels sealed and clean after prepping and you will be good.
That is a loaded question because there are different cure times for different products. I agree with Skywalker "It can't hurt". Just keep your wheels sealed and blow them out before applying the wax and blow them out before you use them.
Thank you for your replies, i usually do my wheels the week of a race. Like i said i was just wondeering about it and was curious about peoples thoughts or opinions.
