Wheel Molds

I have a list of the wheels sorted by mold number, Which ones are the best? I did notice that #11 seemed tight on the bore compared to others. Also if I do not have enough of the same mold number what combos are best, I am running a raised wheel car so I figured the bad molds are best for the raised wheel.

In picking the best wheels, use a balancing tool. If the balance tool is too expensive, just use a very short, mildly tight nail between two razor blades (perhaps embedded in an eraser).
Even with ready prepared SS wheels, I find that at least one out of 4 is out of balance. But when that occurs, tha is the wheel I use as the NDF.

When I am cutting wheels I like #2's, #6's and #9's. My Nationals SS had #6's on it.... I usually only look at bore size and L-R runout because I am always cutting the OD. I don't know what I would pick if I had to run them raw.... I would probably try to find a set of 3 that had the smallest OD run-out and the least L-R runout and I would probably end up with 3 different wheel molds (like John said).

BTW the #8's lately have the largest bore of any mold.... #2 & #9's are the smallest....
