please explain

Honestly.... I don't really want to argue about it. And I shouldn't have called you too dumb, my apologies sir. IMO neither you or Joe were the first to ever think about, or actually put weight in the wheel cavity area. Joe was simply the first one to file for a patent for his version of the idea.

The whole thing reminds me of the movie about Steve Jobs, he was all pissed off because he felt Bill Gates ripped off his Windows idea, yet Steve Jobs had just ripped off the idea from Xerox !

Even after telling Joe the idea and he went and posted it as his all over the boards, I still gave him the benefit of the doubt and we came together on the project. Then he went and took the tungsten design I came up with and patented that! What a dick huh?

Yes, but in that case Jobs knew exactly (and so does everyone else) where the original idea came from and knew that he had stolen it. There was no doubt.

That's not the case here.

All you're offering is "IMO someone else MUST have thought of this first". Well sorry, but it doesn't matter if they did or did not. There's no evidence I've seen that anyone ever attached weights at all in this area, much less the ones that D4D came up with. And even if someone DID "use washers" like you were hypothesizing earlier....it's irrelevant. I don't see where D4D is claiming he's the first one to literally think of putting weight in that spot, only that he's the first to do one LIKE HIS DESIGN in that spot. There's a huge difference.
The burden of proof is on you, not D4D. I've been watching this and have seen this topic discussed before. His story has remained consistent, from that I've seen. If you're going to say "someone else did it already", then prove it. Or it's irrelevant.

I think I missed that one. Or don't remember the story? Which tungsten design?

The so called Puma weight. He didnt design any of that. He did design a purdy case for them though.
Oh, okay. I read "tungsten design" and somehow thought it was something other than the wheel weights. Doh!
I see that link you posted...I do seem to remember that D4D mentioned in the past that he still had copies of the
chats or emails where he told of his design before anyone else had one. I guess that's one of them.

Are you serious ?.......You might want to read post #209...where D4D emphatically states that he was the first person in the history of PWD to ever think of placing weight in the wheel cavity area and attaching it to the body. Of course later in post #211 , he completely contradicts that statement and admits that in fact there were others who had previously attached weight to the body inside the wheel cavity area....but it was "different".

Honestly it's not my place to argue about wheel weight patents, and who said or did what to who. I suggest if anyone has any questions in that regard to go over to Joe's forum and ask him directly.

Wow! What a retard @Ember is.

Who would spend an entire day arguing for something and then say “Honestly it's not my place to argue about wheel weight patents, and who said or did what to who.”

C’mon!!!!

What he said was
Actually people had attached cubes in that area before, however not to fill the entire void or block air. Pretty different.

So what he did was clarify what he meant by being "the first one to do it". That is patently obvious to anyone with say, a 5th grade level of reading comprehension and sense of context of discussion. If you took his original answer by itself, you might have a point, but since it is a running conversation, you do not. Everyone else got it, but apparently you didn't, so glad to clear it up for you.
