Car weights

Yes, but in that case Jobs knew exactly (and so does everyone else) where the original idea came from and knew that he had stolen it. There was no doubt.

That's not the case here.

All you're offering is "IMO someone else MUST have thought of this first". Well sorry, but it doesn't matter if they did or did not. There's no evidence I've seen that anyone ever attached weights at all in this area, much less the ones that D4D came up with. And even if someone DID "use washers" like you were hypothesizing earlier....it's irrelevant. I don't see where D4D is claiming he's the first one to literally think of putting weight in that spot, only that he's the first to do one LIKE HIS DESIGN in that spot. There's a huge difference.
The burden of proof is on you, not D4D. I've been watching this and have seen this topic discussed before. His story has remained consistent, from that I've seen. If you're going to say "someone else did it already", then prove it. Or it's irrelevant.
What he said was

So what he did was clarify what he meant by being "the first one to do it". That is patently obvious to anyone with say, a 5th grade level of reading comprehension and sense of context of discussion. If you took his original answer by itself, you might have a point, but since it is a running conversation, you do not. Everyone else got it, but apparently you didn't, so glad to clear it up for you.

So that's your play... try to huddle the masses around your abhorrent ignorance ? Other than the usual cast of nutswingers , it's doubtful you will have any takers. Did you assign yourself to the arbiter of intentions position, or was there a vote?

In answer to a very direct question , D4D clearly stated that he thought he was the first person in history with the idea of putting weight in that area ,and attaching it to the car. Only to catch himself shortly afterward, or as you say "clarify", that in fact he wasn't the first person to actually do so at all.

Since others have previously placed weight in that location, and have secured it to the body as he admitted, what exactly did D4D come up with ?...and how long after seeing what others have done in this area, did his brainstorm take place?

But I digress, if you would like to discuss the subject further, please do so on the Laserman forum.

What i did was way different. Joe would have never messed with it if i hadnt told him about the concept. Besides, he directly used my design for full tungsten wheel cavity weights. When we first came together on the project his progression of the concept was acrylic holders for tungsten and I was building lead and lead tungsten hybrid weights. My thought was always to eventually go full tungsten. I came up with 2 tungsten designs, one for cubs and one for league. I convinced Joe we should look into my design for a full tungsten weight. I started to look into it and couldnt get any response from tungsten companies in china. So we decided Joe might have better luck being a business owner. Joe got a response to his inquiry. I think it was like $600 for the mold and $1500 for the first order. I had a hard time coming up with or justifying my share of the initial cost, being a stay at home dad and all. I tried to compromise by suggesting we go with lead first [since that what was actually currently winning], it would be cheaper and then bankroll that into a tungsten order. Joe was completely unsympathetic and now would ONLY do tungsten. He became hostile towards me and went and ordered them all himself and cut me out of the picture.

Moving on....that sure was a fine looking car you built this past month , and it was pretty darn fast as well !

See what John did there Alpo....he posted "word"....so he got the last word. Or does my posting about it give me the last word ?.... Hell I don't know, this smartass stuff is so complicated !

It would only be appropriate that you get the last word Reggie............................damnit I did it again.
