I am sure you must also have tried steel polished to the shine of an axle head as a washer.
The fact that you still prefer Delrin would lead me to believe that perhaps the shape of the axle head has some bearing on the matter.
Or perhaps it is any of a number of other things such as cantilever or vibration.
Going on the premise that it is the magic of a polystyrene wheel on a polished axle head.
Meaning the material, and the shape of the contact point, are the important factors...
It kind of makes me wonder if Bracketracer wasn't onto something earlier in this thread?
